Audio from Allen and Heath ZED-24 Analog mixer not being captured during recording

We are just setting up a new camera for our church and we have the OBS software installed on a Dell G16 gaming laptop. We are attempting to use the audio from our mixer (Allen and Heath ZED-24 analog mixer and although the meter for the microphone shows activity, there is no sound in the video. I have a laptop at home for my test bed and although I do not have a mixer, I have a USB Stereo headset with microphone and if I connect the headset to the USB port and speak into the microphone, all is good. The microphone on that headset has a 1/8" TRS male connector. If I plug that into my laptop, I can see the mic meter in OBS jump around with speech, however no audio captured in the video. These are the same results whether I plug the headset's microphone in the laptop's headset jack or the microphone port on the USB Sound Blaster device. I am going into properties and selecting appropriate device. Do I need a 1/8" TRRS male plug for the computer end, or should a TRS work fine?

First, for headphones with a microphone to work, the microphone has to be trrs. Trs are only stereo audio (right, left, ground)*, trrs are those that include a microphone cable (right, left, mic, ground)*

Second, you're going to have to explain how you're making the mixer connection to the computer, although I can get an idea that you're only using one aux cable.

Third, after a short investigation, the mixer model you mention has its own integrated audio interface, so the easiest connection is through a USB cable between the mixer and the PC. You need a USB-B to USB-A (or USB-C) cable, you can easily find it as a printer cable.

*They are not necessarily in that order.
