Hi,. I'm doing a podcast, which is recorded locally and am experiencing audio echo and swell on shots when I do multicam with people on skype.
I'll just briefly explain how and what i'm doing.
I make a 4 way shot using skype, I take 3 of the shots or 4 sometimes depending on which people join for the show I send my second webcam to do this, which enables me to use my other webcam to send to OBS as a high res shot, I take my audio for skype and for OBS from one source my NT1a. Skype will send my audio to the other people in the Skype window, but wont pick up on OBS, so I add the mic as a source on the edit window in OBS.
I create a mixture of shots to switch between, including a 4 quarters split (one in each corner).
For some reason on the single shots the audio is fine, but sometimes on the 4 quarters split it will echo and swell.
I'm really new to the software and am certain I'm doing something stupid.
I prob need to make the Noise gate a bit tighter to stop it picking back up.
But is there any other obvious thing I'm missing?
I'm gonna buy a vocal mic shield to place around the back of the mic to see if that helps? Also get the other members and maybe myself to use headphones, although would rather not. Not always practical, especially if sharing a webcam with someone which will be a possible requirement.
Also could someone make any possible settings recommendations.
Currently would like to have the highest local recording I can, hoping my rig is upto it.?
Many thanks Dan
