Question / Help Audio Echo - Blackmagic Input

Hi Everyone,

We are streaming our college newscasts via OBS and Facebook, and have recently come across an issue where there is an echo in the stream. Up until a few weeks ago, we had no issues....so I'm trying to figure out what changed that has us in the position we are in now.

We are sending audio through the computer using a Blackmagic device that takes the feed directly from live program and sends it through our computer who acts as the middle man.

Things I have already tried:
  • Muting the computer & the browser
  • Turning the monitor off in advanced audio settings
  • switching to mono instead of stereo in the audio settings
  • minimizing OBS while the stream is active
If anyone is able to give me some other ideas, I'd be very appreciative. Thank you!

Hi,

I was having the same problem using a Blackmagic Decklink card. For the time being, I'm actually using these settings: Sources\Black Magic\Properties\Audio\ Audio Input device: Disable

This seems to result in clear audio when I start the stream, when I'd get echo / reverb with all other audio sources. I am however experiencing 2 issues with this configuration. As I continue to stream (24/7/365 for this application) I lose the sync between video and audio, with audio trailing. I also have experienced crackling in the audio playback. both issues appear to resolve if I periodically go to Settings\Audio\Microphone/Auxiliary Audio Device: Line In (Blackmagic Decklink Mini Recorde... then click the Reinitialize button. Currently searching for a way to keep the audio in sync, and free from crackling inside of OBS settings, but I must experiment outside of production hours (10 PM - 4:30 AM), when I grown accustomed to sleeping.

I hope this was helpul.

God bless,
Eric
