For some reason when I stream the audio will cut out for about 3 seconds then come back. All audio is dropped including game audio and voice audio coming from discord. During these few seconds my friends in discord cannot hear me either. This ONLY happens after I click the start streaming button. I'm trying to stream Dead by Daylight and this game is not friendly to people who lose audio at random. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!!

EDIT: I have tried:

Lowering my webcam resolution
Lowering my stream resolution
Lowering/raising my bitrate
Lowering/raising my audio bitrate
Removing my webcam from stream

Things to try:

- Your Logitech mic on the headset should be used as the Windows default recording device
- Your Logitech headset should be used as the Windows default playback device
- Set these in Windows Sound playback and recording tabs; Disable all audio devices not being used.
- Your webcam in the OBS mixer should be muted as you dont need audio to be recorded by the webcam (use your mic instead)
- You should have no speakers in the OBS mixer and they should be turned off on the volume knobs to prevent echo.
- Your headset should be set as an OBS Audio output capture
- Your headset mic should be set as an OBS Audio input capture
- Avoid streaming using wireless. Always use Ethernet with Fast Gigabit throughout (cables, switch)
- Nobody else and their electric devices should be using the internal network while you stream
- All audio devices being captured (mic, headset) should be set to sample at the same OBS audio sample rate (44.1hz or 48hz). Do that in Windows Sound Advanced tab for each device (right click on audio device, properties, advanced, default format)

Thanks a lot for the information. After reading your reply I have:

Double checked to make sure the logitech headset and mic are default devices, and disabled all other audio devices not in use.
Double checked to make sure my webcam is muted.
Set my headset as an OBS audio output capture.
Set my headset mic as an OBS audio input capture.
Made sure all audio devices being captured are set to sample at the same as OBS audio sample rate.(4.41hz)

The problem is happening less frequently, but is still happening every 4-5 minutes or so.

When you are not streaming and playing your game, does the cutting in and out of audio happen when heard through your headset? (i.e. not using OBS Studio at all)
I'd imagine, not and I'd venture to guess its probably Discord related.

What I'm thinking is that with Discord running, when you speak into the mic, the Discord application takes control over the mic and has a high priority to do so over everything else, including OBS Studio. Discord doesn't release the mic until it gives back control, thus causing a delay. See if this is the case.

Go to your Windows Sound
For the mic:
- Click on Properties and go to Advanced tab
- In Exclusive mode, do four stream tests using the four combinations checking/unchecking:
a) Allow apps to take exclusive control of this device (check, uncheck)
b) Give exclusive mode application priority (check, uncheck)
