Audio Disappears When I Open Zoom?

I need to have Zoom open since I'm using a screen grab/audio from Zoom for the stream.

The problem is, when I open Zoom, all of a sudden I can't hear any of the audio or video clips I added in OBS. I could hear them just fine until I opened Zoom.

Ideally I want sounds from both Zoom (people talking) and OBS (sound effects). I'm playing around with the monitoring settings but no luck. Anything I'm possibly missing?

*Where* can't you hear them? Stream? Recording? Headphones?

Does Zoom mess with your system settings? I'd be surprised if it did, but I've been surprised before. I have a script on a Linux rig that saves the present state of the system, intentionally messes it all up to serve itself, and then puts it all back when it's done.

At any rate, do a bunch of tests while Zoom has it messed up. What works then? How does it work? Build your rig on that.
