Question / Help Audio delay

Hello everyone,

My main audio source keeps getting delayed by OBS and I have no idea why. e.g. : https://clips.twitch.tv/CuriousIcyRamenMoreCowbell

During the first half of the clip, you can hear that my playing is not on time with the music, but around the 5 seconds mark, a glitch can be heard which sets back my playing back in time. Weird, uh?

I've found that this issue is most likely coming from OBS as I've also recorded my drumming in Audacity while I was livestreaming and no glitch can be heard in there. Am I putting too much pressure on my CPU when livestreaming?

P.S. : You will see in the logs that I've recorded a little video before the stream starts. This is something I usually do before each stream to make sure everything's how it should be!

You will find attached to this comment the log files of the stream where it happend. According to my calculations, it was 21:06 at the time.

P.-S. : I don't think the problem is coming from the CPU usage of my PC as it's pretty low when I stream.

Bump.

This is really irritating.. Pretty sure I've also already tried ticking/unticking the "Use Device Timestamps" box but to no avail. Seems like the issue is coming from OBS being inconsistent with the Sync Offset configuration I have, but I could be wrong.
 
Bump.

I've tried:

Disabling CPU throttling.
Updating my BIOS.
Using another USB port for my audio interface.
Using CoreAudio ACC encoder.
Recording without one of my other USB devices plugged in.
Using my brother's PC.
Using ReaRoute instead of Synchronous Audio Router to route the audio from my DAW to OBS.

..but in vain. The delay seemed to be acting a bit different when using ReaRoute though.

Any help is appreciated!


P.-S. - I'm going to record another sample in Reaper while streaming to make sure the problem is still coming from OBS. I will also try setting a bigger sample size on my interface to see if that helps.
 
Are you still using OBS 23.1.0? That version has a specific issue with audio device handling that was fixed in the next version.

Thanks for your answer! I did recently update OBS to the latest version (forgot to mention that, sorry) but I'm pretty sure it didn't help. I'll link as soon as I can another snippet of my playing getting delayed to make sure I'm not crazy though.
 
Come to think about it, when I mentionned the delay was acting different when using ReaRoute, it might have been because I was using the latest version of OBS. I believe I updated OBS when installing ReaRoute for the first time so it'd make sense.

I've since started using Synchronous Audio Router again and although the delay seems to be less present (I should have maybe mentionned that as well, sorry) than before, I'm pretty sure it's still there. I will link some footage as soon I can.

Hello everyone,

Here is an audio snippet where you can hear the delay created by OBS 25.0.1 :


What you're hearing is two metronome beats that are supposed to be synchronised but aren't. One of them is the signal being sent by my DAW (Reaper) captured using Audacity, the other one (the one pitched higher) being the same signal but captured using OBS.

The two beats are synchronised up until about 6 minutes and 43 seconds where the metronome beat captured by OBS suddenly loses track. You can see that here:

From there it gradually starts building up delay until the recording stops.


Here are the properties of the audio signal Reaper sends:

OBS is also configured in 48000 Hz, by the way.

You will also find attached to this post the logs of the recording "WhatOBSRecieves" which was initially an mp4 recording that I then converted to an mp3 file.
