Question / Help Audio Delay question

When I stream using my Avermedia, I use audio from my optical in port on my sound card. If I set OBS to use the optical in with the axillary input, audio is in sync with the video. If i select the optical input using the Audio Input device in the source properties, it's out of sync (and i never seem to get it perfect with the Audio time offset). Is there a reason doing it that way causes audio delay?

if you use it in the device source properties, you need to enable "use buffering", which will prevent that from happening.
