Audio cutting out when adding video source

Log is attached, using a Magewell USB Capture SDI 4k Pro, works perfectly on my desktop PC with windows but on my Mac when I add a video source(as shown in the video the sound begins cutting out at random intervals, the goes back to perfect when I remove the video source. OBS is the newest version on both computers, laptop is a MacBook Pro with OS updated, video uses tone for sound.

Any help would be extremely appreciated, this is as simple of a setup as it gets and I cannot understand why this is happening

ran into this same thing with a Magewell on my MBP last year. turned out to be a sample rate mismatch, open Audio MIDI Setup (its in /Applications/Utilities), find the Magewell and make sure its set to 48kHz to match OBS. macOS does some weird resampling when a new device comes in and it causes exactly this kind of dropout.
