Hello OBS community!
This is not necessarily a problem to be solved because I have a workaround, but I am curious about the underlying mechanics of it.
So I am using OBS as a desktop recorder, not for streaming atm. I started up my recording, and realized I left the sound on when I actually wanted to mute it. But I didn't want to press mute and get the muting overlay from my PC in the recording (audio would be unaffected), so I compromised by just plugging in headphones that I wouldn't wear - no visual indicators happen that way.
But playing back the video to test, the audio is much louder. I can't exactly tell if there's any change in the audio quality, or if it's just a lot louder.
Here is an example using some free music from a redditor /u/MrLoop:

In this video there may be some change to bass, where it gets louder when earbuds are plugged in, I'm not sure. It might have more reverb? IDK, but something changes.
I start with the earbuds unplugged for 25 seconds, then plug them in for 25 seconds (repeating the same audio portion of the song), and then every 5 seconds un/plug them on the third playthrough of the audio sample.
I also show my settings for OBS in case anything jumps out at anybody.
My workaround of course is just not plugging in my headphones to avoid this change in quality.
