This latest update won't let me download, as it's giving me a virus threat. I hope you can fix this problem.

Dear @atkAudio:

Hope this message finds you well... I'm unable to use the plugin, and I suspect that it might be because I'm using a portable version of OBS that isn't installed in the typical Windows location. However, I'm not sure.

I executed the included installer, and I noticed that C:\ProgramData\obs-studio\plugins\ is selected as the default install location. I OK'd my way through the installer without making any changes to the same. However, when I run my OBS Studio, I'm unable to locate or use the plugin. I also tried copying the bin and data folders that I found within the aforementioned installation directory into my OBS install location, but that doesn't seem to work either.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey Alex, I’ve run into a similar issue before when using a portable version of OBS. Most plugins are designed to work with the standard installation paths, so even though you're manually copying the bin and data folders, OBS might still not recognize the plugin due to missing registry entries or path configurations.

One workaround that worked for me was launching OBS with admin rights and checking if the plugin loads after manually placing the folders inside the portable_config/plugins structure (depending on how your OBS is structured). Also, double-check that you’re matching the correct architecture (e.g., x64 vs x86) for both OBS and the plugin.

Had a similar struggle while setting up a video shoot for our website Spunkz.pk — and OBS plugin paths caused more trouble than expected

Hope this helps, and good luck getting it running!

Maybe im not using this correctly? Goal is to have a Vlc Playlist output audio to a different output source. Ive tried all 4-5 types, I thought it was working on ASIO, but realized the volume wasnt adjusting with my device, then realized if i manually lowered the volume of the source, I could hear like a choppy weird sound... Let me see if I can record a video.

So in the vid, the audio sources ktv main = the one being sent to music, audio capture output is just the music output source. KTV is muted so you can hear whats its coming through on the output. And at the end when its just the same loop that when you pause the video...

Again, audio is my weakness so maybe im using it wrong.

Hi! You're probaly doing everything right. There seems to be something different about internal VLC player audio buffering. At this point, I would recommend trying Media Source, or standalone instance of VLC and capture it as Game Capture.

14.3 Sort of fixed the VLC issue, ASIO is a bit out of sync, but the others seem to be in sync and working good.

The only couple gripes ive noticed. Say I add the device out to a source, it goes to that source.... But it also stays in the original
system/obs source, so you have to mute any volume controllers for that source.

Which brings up #2, there is effectively no way to automate any volume settings for directed audio, IE with Adv-ss or something.

Actually, I am kinda confused, I have all monitoring off, desktop audio off, but I can still hear the Directed Source, in different scenes as well, that the source is not in.... not sure how that works...

0.14.3 fixed the glitches, but the sync issues with VLC sources are beyond a plugins scope. Audio signal flows through the filters even if the source output is muted. So, as long as the e.g. Device I/O filter is active and receiving audio it will send it to destination output device, even if the audio OBS source (or perhaps more commonly known as a channel/track) output is muted. You would need to automate the enable/bypass state of the Device I/O filter between scenes to effectively mute it between scenes.
