ATEM mini pro on Mac mini M1

I'm Using a Mac mini with an ATEM mini pro switcher. the camera using a video capture source, allows me to select the black magic design device but no video. I have a MacBook Air with M1 and all I do is swing the usb cord from the mini to the MB air and it works fine. but not on the Mac mini.

I did not install ATEM software on the MacBook Air that works. I just moved the ATEM USB cord from the mini to the MacBook Air. I think I did install the software correctly on the mini but it’s camera driven and seems to work. The mini sees the ATEM plugged in (on the system report) as when I add a capture device, I can select “black magic design” on the mini. But the dialog should immediately display the camera picture but does not.
