Question / Help Astro MixAmp Pro - Cannot get both output sounds

Hi there, so here's what I've been trying to figure out and I have been reading things about the DirectShow Audio Plugin and that doesn't seem to work, I've also tried VAC, but I couldn't figure out how to get it to work despite what I had read around, maybe I am not doing it right, but I couldn't get it to listen to any other devices.

Ok so, here's my setup:
i7 3770 @ 4.8
16gb ram
MSI twin Frozr 7970 3gb
MSI Z77a-G45 mobo
Astro MixAmp Pro (both USB and Optical connections)
Samson Meteor mic
Sennheiser HD 558 headphones

So I have my MixAmp setup with all my ventrilo / voip / skype chat stuff to go through the USB and all music, games, videos etc to go through Optical. This allows for the knob that will lower or raise voice or game sounds to work properly. This is what I like so that I can setup my stream sounds perfectly and then modify them depending on what I need without having to change stream volume inputs / outputs.

I tried the DirectShow Audio plugin or whatever, tried to add it to capture sound from the USB connection, as OBS is setup through the options to use my optical connection for the game sound. I try the Direct Stereo option for the MixAmp USB, and I try the regular Speaker option for it, neither one works. I switched OBS to listen to the USB, and tried to add the Realtek HD audio Optical output through DirectShow and it didn't seem to work.

I also tried VAC, but I couldn't figure out how to get VAC to listen / take in sound from both the USB / Optical.

Any clue what I'm doing wrong? Any guides you can suggest?

Thank you for any help.

Multiple desktop audio captures will be supported in upcoming versions (specifically I'm meaning the rewrite), but for the time being, yea.. basically it's somewhat difficult. You have to use the directshow audio capture and then capture "what you hear" or "stereo mix" (which I would presume would be end up being from your optical, at least hopefully), and then set your headphones to as the default desktop audio capture.

If you don't have stereo mix/etc or they don't work, then VAC is probably the only option, and I'm also unfamiliar with how to use VAC.
