I've read through countless threads on multiple forums about my issues and have been unable to resolve them.
I am currently trying to stream my xbox one through OBS.
Here is my setup.
HDMI from Xbox to Elgato
Elgato HDMI to Monitor
Elagto USB to PC
Mixamp optical to Xbox One
Mixamp usb to PC
Mixamp stream 3.5mm to mic jack on PC
Mixamp to controller (Here is where I've tried different ways. I have used the Xbox one headset adapter that plugs into the controller and I have tried just the cord that converts it to 3.5 to plug into the controller.)
If I use the full headset adapter the xbox party chat is about a 1/5th as loud as all other volume in OBS. I have no trouble with game audio or my mic. All volume comes through just as it should except other peoples voices in Xbox chat.
If I remove the adapter and just use the 3.5mm converter and plug it straight in to the jack on the controller it the chat audio is fine on OBS, but it makes my headset audio horrendous. It adds a horrible metallic tone to everything that comes through the headset. Completely ruins game and voice audio on my end.
I have currently just removed the cable all together that runs to the controller and I am just using my Xbox Kinect to talk with with people on Xbox. However this is not the optimal way I want to go. I would like to have a decent mic and be able to have solid game and chat audio. If someone's suggestion is "Astros are just bad" please point me in the direction to quality headset and mic I can use with the Xbox One. If not, is there anything I can do to try and fix this issue?
