Question / Help As soon as I open OBS, my game drops 80 FPS.

As soon as I open the program, without having a preview even, literally just opening the software, my FPS drop by almost 50%.
Since I'm a technical rookie the only thing I noticed is my fan going louder and louder when I opened the program. Doesn't show a very high CPU usage either.

I reinstalled OBS already and it didn't make a difference.

jesus... thanks a lot I'm retarded, seems to work for now

No it doesnt. Constant 20% GPU Load and ~10% CPU Load.

Drops my F1 2016 by at least 30 fps just by OBS running without capture/streaming and deactivated preview (which apparently still renders even if deactivated. And here is the full problem behind it.

Virtualdub - no fps loss with capture card and magicyuv.

But it is.
I would like to use OBS, but this is inacceptable.
I aimed for no fps loss while capturing and then I have to experience that OBS renders the preview even if deactivated and so still uses its full ressources - so OBS does take a lot of FPS from the game just by being open.
So I still have to stay with Virtualdub which stays 0% CPU and 0% GPU if it is not capturing at all, unlike OBS.
But supports no global hotkeys, no multitrack audio and no nvenc, but even with the MagicYUV codec I lost almost nothing fps wise. OBS though the fps is already 30fps lower just by having it opened..

have you read my edit? Then explain all the threads about the problem? I mean I'm not the only one who complains about this. I would be glad if OBS would stop dropping fps just by being it opened. But as long as a deactivated preview doesnt use NO ressources anymore rather than still the full ressources as being enabled, the problem will stay.
I'm open for a solution but I have not much hope, as long as the preview is handled like it currently is.

You should not be thread hijacking and claiming OBS is the cause without properly troubleshooting.

You should be posting your own thread troubleshooting the issue.

Calming that OBS is the problem (it's usually not, it's usually windows' settings or stupid antivirus) IS NOT HELPING.

I dont have antivirus
I have windows 7. And I'm 99% sure the problem is not windows. If I set the preview to a lower resolution the usage by the software goes lower. So it is clearly the damn preview.
How it can be windows if OBS is the one and only software which has this problem? Thats why I highly doubt it.
But yes I'll do a thread later.
