Are there recommended settings for when I just want to use the OBS preview?

I'm using the OBS preview because my TV broke and I can't afford to buy another right now. However, the input lag is too much for me and I find that the settings available in OBS are for gameplay recording and streaming. Are there settings used for only previews or do I need to use other software?
 
OBS is no TV app. It has no tuning/channel switch features. It's not clear how and for what you need the preview of OBS to watch TV on your PC - if you have a TV card, you're probably better off with the native TV app that comes with that card.
