Hi there,
I'm using the Apple HEVC hardware encoder and actually I'm very happy with it. Very good quality and low cpu usage. But there is one issue. When I set the bitrate (CBR) to 6.000 kb/s the actual output bitrate (shown in statistic window) is mostly around 9.000 kb/s, sometimes even higher. Mostly that is no problem, but I have an upcoming event, where I have to control the bandwith a little bit.
I know that the bitrate is more an average and never fixed to the set value. But in h.264 at 6.000 kb/s the bitrate is never higher than 6.500 kb/s.
Doe anybody know the reason for that or how to control the bitrate with that encoder a bit more?
BTW: Using Macbook Pro M2 Max, Sonomo 14.1.1, OBS 30.1.2
Thanky
Patrick
