Apple Audio Units

I've been really amazed by Apple's new AUSoundIsolation audio unit. It does an incredible job of doing voice isolation that sounds natural. However, the only way I've figured out to use it in OBS is to route sound through Rogue Amoeba's Audio Hijack Pro first before sending it to OBS (I wrote about that here for anyone interested). Anyway, I know OBS supports VST 2 plugins. Is there any way to use AudioUnit plugins, the Mac native plugin format through an adapter? It seems like it would be a lot more efficient if I could avoid having to send the audio through Audio Hijack before getting it into OBS.

Thanks, Tim

Hey, if we're doing that, how about LADSPA and LV2 for Linux as well!

Yeah, I know this is the Mac section, but if one group gets theirs added, we might as well look at everybody.

Have the improvements in this thread been issused and supported on GitHub?

I am currently using OBS on MacOS. Instead of connecting microphone audio directly to OBS then, I use LadioCast (as a mixer) and BlackHole (virtual audio device). This way, I can specify the “Separate Voice” function to LadioCast on the menu bar and take advantage of the noise-canceling feature that comes standard with the Mac. (This noise canceling feature should be compliant with an Audio Units plug-in called AUSoundIsolation.)

My ideal would be to use this noise cancelling function by specifying it directly within the OBS filter. I hope this will be supported.
