Any way to Fade up Sources?

Hello,

I posted this in the feature suggestion forum but wanted to ask if there was a way to fade up or down sources? It seems that scenes have the ability to use transitions but sources are just on or off using the "eye". I often broadcast using a single window and would like to be able to fade up or down individual sources or folders during a live broadcast without making a scene etc... Thanks!

P.S. The suggestion I offered was to add a transition button right next to the "Eye" so the user could cut or transition sources.

I don't think so. But depending on the transitions, an effective workaround might be to have a different scene for each combination of sources on or off, and transition between those scenes.

The Downstream Keyer plugin might be helpful too:
It works kinda like a second copy of OBS that receives the output of the first and adds its own stuff to that, except that you don't actually need the second copy. The plugin does that job, between what would have been the output, and the actual output.

If I right-click a source, there is a "Show Transition" and "Hide Transition" entry in the context menu. I'm able to select transitions in their submenus, and then the given show/hide transitions are executed whenever I show/hide the source with the eye icon. Seems exactly what you're asking.

Huh. When was that added? Either it's new, or I must not have seen it for a long time.

I don't know. I didn't even know that it existed until now. I read the question in the OP, asked myself: "where could such function be located?" to which the answer was: "for source specific behavior, probably in the context menu of a source", so I fired up OBS to check, and there it was.

Thank you so much! I would have never guessed that "Show Transition" was actually for using a transition! Exactly what I was hoping for. Since I prefer to be direct to live, I mostly want to use fades to bring up graphics etc... Perfect. Thank you.

Now if I could sort out the selection issues when grouping I will be golden!

Wording is slightly ambiguous. It's short for "set transition used for show this source" and "set transition used for hide this source"
