Question / Help Any Console (PS3) streamers around?

I currently use Astro A40's with a mic cable going from the mix amp to my PC. In order to get a decent sound level i need to turn mic boost on and then when i talk i get all sorts of extra sound

You might try the microphone noise gate plugin, but that generally is the problem with an omnidirectional headset mic as tend to come on most 'gaming headsets'. They pick up a lot of ambient sound, as they're more focused on making sure that you can be heard and understood... and less on any kind of audio quality. You either need a better microphone (unidirectional, noise-cancelling), or a quieter studio in which to record/cast.
