I know this is a year too late but I'll put the answer here for anyone searching!

I am a designer and was having the same issues, it was maxing a clients CPU when OBS was just idling

Problem:
Your file size is too big, I took my 355MB 4k file and did the following

Solution:
WHEN RENDERING THE GRAPHIC, Download and use the export option called "WebM" (https://www.webmproject.org/) through your Adobe Media Encoder

Set your graphic size to 1920x1080 NOT 4k, Put the frame rate to 30 fps, and drag the "Quality" bar down until its under 20MB (Shown at the bottom)

I have tested rendering and using files 40MB and under, they all worked fine with the CPU, and tbh I didn't see much of a quality difference so I recommend just using the lowest file size you can get and it won't put stress on the CPU.

Can I do this after purchasing an overlay from someone? Is there a way I can compress it myself?
