Question / Help AMD(hardware) encoder, anyone else notice bad video quality while usingit?

Seeing as I have an amd card I figured I would give this encoder a whirl, I was massively impressed with how less of an impact if was on the pc while streaming but it took awhile to notice and figure out that the encoder was sadly horribly degrading the visual quality of the stream compared to the x264 encoder. Anyone else notice this? Here's hoping the amd encoder gets some improvements in the future as it seemed like a really nice thing.

Hardware encoders like AMD VCE trade quality for speed. To achieve the quality of x264, they require a higher bitrate (2 - 3 times I would say). You could get a more current GPU (if you don't have one already) to improve quality. I believe later GPUs have noticeably improved quality compared to older GPUs. However, even a more current card will not be anywhere close to x264.
