Question / Help AMD H265 Keyframe Interval and GOP size

These two settings are listed under this encoder. From what I've read, they have the same meaning. What is the purpose and result of these? Does one override the other or is it something else?

GOP = Group of Pictures, Keyframe Interval = Interval between IDR frames (complete refreshes)

Both essentially mean the same, GOP is used for average bitrate control and Keyframe Interval/IDR Period is used for stream refresh controlling. Higher Keyframe Interval means better compression, lower means being able to seek faster.
