Question / Help AMD graphics not showing in Studio, only Original

I have been using OBS Original to broadcast my DJ'ing on www.chew.tv
It runs at ~80% usage.

I have wanted to try OBS Studio, as it apparently is more efficient.
However, Studio will not show the graphics card / APU graphics like Original OBS does

Computer Specs:
AMD A8-3870 APU with Radeon 6550D HD graphics (3.00 GHz)
Radeon 5450 card

24 GB DDR3 system RAM

Logitech c920 web camera

Windows 10
solid state drive for main operating system.

Broadcast settings (best in OBS Original without problems):
320k AAC audio (captured from a Saffire 6 audio card)
720p video 30fps, 1500k bit rate

any ideas why studio will not see the graphics hardware when original will?

is it that the hardware is outdated and not supported anymore, and that I should upgrade?

OBS Studio uses hardware acceleration of Direct3D (from v10.2) or OpenGL (from v3.2). Without hw acceleration it refuses to start.

The mentioned feature is selection for multi GPU systems.

I get how it works now... based on what catalyst for radeon says only the graphics on the APU will be used, as the other card is disabled.

whereas I use the other graphics card with Origiinal
Studio wont use the card, only the one with the CPU (APU)

I don't think there is a point showing a log as I have never run it to broadcast yet, due to not being able to select which card I want to do hardware encoding with.
unless you think there is?

I've asked Jim to merge a change last year that prioritizes the dedicated GPU for AMD hardware, so if it is enabled and running then OBS will use the dedicated GPU. That is unless you force it to not use the dedicated GPU by adding a profile in Radeon Settings.
