Question / Help AMD FX - Need help!

Hi,

I really need help with this as I have tried everything I know and also got some help from others. I am trying to use OBS from laptop hooked up to elgato hd60 for xbox one streaming to Twitch. I have tried both obs studio and classic. It is lagging and sometimes or just froze on screen just in Preview. I feel like I have tried a million settings with nothing changing. I dropped the resolution downscale to the lowest it will go 3.00 (640 x 360) When it was on this setting it would move very slightly but still lagging a lot and again this is just on preview. I have checked all programs running in the background. Download is over 100 and upload is 10. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Skip this part if you don't care about the backstory of this: This is a brand new computer that a friend bought and I have helped him get everything setup. We tried both wireless and wired. He had to buy a usb to ethernet as his laptop did not have that. I really want to get this working for him especially since he just spent all this money to stream. I am completely stumped since he just got this new system and upgraded his internet so I thought it should be working fine with obs and streaming. I have only ever worked with Intel for years and never had any issues with them so not sure if this is an AMD issue or not. I do not currently have his log file for obs but will add it if needed once I can try and help him again today.

Okay so update is it works at 768x432 but it is still choppy at moments. I would really like to help my friend to increase the resolution if possible. If we increase it at all it lags or is choppy to much. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me. It is greatly appreciated!

Use the best settings you've been able to come up with yourself, wired, on OBS Studio, and then record or stream for at least five minutes of high action gameplay. Then come back here and post the log file from that session. Then maybe we can help you.

Edit: Also, uninstall the Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

I expected better performance than that. I guess that CPU isn't strong enough, try SuperFast preset. Again, make sure the Anniversary Update is not installed.

Why is this set so high?

Also, you should try OBS Studio.

Thank you for your help. I am not sure why that was set so high. We were trying everything and I know they were not all good choices.
