Hello! Well I'm new to using OBS but I'm pretty sure I've got the basics down. I'll give you a quick run at my setup...

Windows 8, 8gb Ram, AMD Radeon 6770m, intel i7 processor, Elgato Game Capture HD, 2.4ghz

Ok my setup that I am using is,

Quality 10
CBR
3000 Bitrate
3500 Bitrate Buffer
Audio Bitrate 168
Multithread Processing
30 FPS

Now here is my problem..

I have amazing internet (not to brag) as you saw on the speedtest link. Yet all of a sudden I'm struggling to stream, getting low FPS on 720p quality when I have plenty of upload speed and what I consider, a high end computer compared to others! I used to be fine with no lag on XSplit, but then that started acting up on me two, so now I'm with OBS. But facing this huge problem. I'd appreciate any help, thank you!

Just wanted to chime in and say I'm getting a similar problem. I was streaming very well for a while..now after a couple of OBS updates I can't seem to stream properly anymore without severe lag and frame drops...

Are you really? Wow I hate it so much lol, I've been wanting to get the streaming thing going and have everything that I need for it plus a little more. Yet the frame drops are horrendous. I seriously hope somebody can help us both out very soon, I really want to start streaming.

well for kodeman all i can say is lower your bitrate or consider changing the server you are streaming to....

and for cbreezy dunno need a log to help you since you are on a laptop your problem is most likely completly different

some high processing time and quite some late frames

laptops are just not made for proper streaming i guess :<

Well see the thing is everything was working fine when I used XSplit except my Astro A40's.. soon as I hooked them up the right way. XSplit started lagging, which is when I found out pro players and Nadeshot use OBS so I tried it out. I want to stream COD - To sports games, so high paced action. Like I said everything was fine then suddenly stopped :s

Well, you do have some performance issues going on there for the most part. Roughly 9% of your frames are late, which means the PC simply fell behind. One obvious way to counter that to some extent is to simply tone the game's graphics down a bit.

Well considering it's console, how would I fix that? Are there any methods or things I can do fix/clean up my computer, or does such a thing exist? My problem is how were my streams running smooth as ever then out of nowhere, bam! I start getting this lag and frame drops.

Well, kind of. Let's say, for example, it had been SNES. The resolution you're streaming at (720p) is far higher than anything the SNES ever rendered. So, if it had been SNES you could've simply gone with more resolution downscaling in OBS, to free up some more CPU time.

In this case however, I am not sure. 720p seems like a very reasonable resolution to stream X360 at.

Yea it's got to be something but I can't figure out what would randomly triggure the frame dropping all of a sudden.
