hi.

i'm kinda new to this streaming thing and i have a couple questions...
i've been streaming "kinda" well on my desktop for pc games, but now i bought a capture card for my consoles..
i installed OBS on my laptop and on my first run i got this message:

i checked my laptop's direct x and it says it's 11... not 10.

my question is... is my laptop able to stream at all, even if it has DX11?
is there any specific setting for this hardware setup?

please advise.
many thanks.

Installed directx version and supported version by your graphics chip, can be two different things unfortunately.
In your case the graphics chip is too old and does not support all necessary functions, sry. You will need a new laptop to run OBS!

Unfortunatly Jack0r is right in this, the GMA 950 series chipsets only support up to DX9. that being said, you said that you can stream from your desktop fine. if your console and desktop are not TOO far away, you can buy long cable and run it (Id say no more than 25ft, 50ft is pushing it) to your desktop and capture that way

I had the same problem with an intel Express chipset. I just went to Amazon and bought a cheap graphics card that could fit into my computer and it worked. Unless it's a laptop.

Yeah it is. My apologies. You have no way to stream with obs with that gpu.

XtraSurs, why do you always post twice instead of just editing your post. (Or reading the OPs topic in this case, before posting) I will merge them one last time, next time please use the edit function.

Alright. Thank you all for the time to reply, guys.

I know my laptop is a little outdated... (hopefully I'll get a new one after the tax return) ^_^

have a nice day.
