Question / Help Always bad quality outcomes

Hi,

I've been experiencing bad quality problems with OBS for a while now, I really want to use OBS but I can't seem to get good, smooth 60f0s footage.

There's really nothing else to it, I've tried so many different settings, all the same outcomes.

This is probably the smoothest I've seen one of my OBS videos, it's just the quality in this example is really bad.

Windows 10
Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 960
Processor: AMD FX(tm)-8350 8-Core
16GB RAM

Then you should switch to obs studio, set output mode to simple, recording quality to indistinguishable and encoder to software low cpu use.

Still turns out choppy with OBS Studio + the settings.

Because your CPU is not the best when it comes to 1080p60 footage no matter the Preset. I would recommend using NVENC (Hardware Encoder)

I recommend using CQP of 20 or CBR with 35000 Bitrate.


x264 with OBS Classic

Bitrate: 1000 Buffer 0
Preset: Ultrafast
x264 command: crf=20
cbr: unchecked
cfr: checked

I used to use fraps on my old PC and I go smooth af footage and the CPU wasn't near as good as this one, now when I try fraps it's just choppy.

OBS is the closest thing I've got to a smooth video out of all the recording programs I've tried.
I'll give those settings a go.
