Hi, all.
New to the program and the forum. I'm having some issues with OBS. My system is good (i7 6700, gtx 1080, 16gb RAM, EVO850). The problem is that OBS itself runs super choppy. My games run at a consistent 100+ FPS, but in OBS everything, including webcam feed, runs at about 5 FPS. If I alt-tab, then I can see the game capture in the background and everything is perfect again. Alt tab back into game, framerate drops in OBS. If I keep alt+tabbing back and forth, eventually OBS will start working at 60 FPS, but if I alt+tab again I run the likely risk of it dropping back to 5 FPS. What is causing this? I've tried it with multiple games and it seems to be the same. My stream also comes up choppy. But recordings when this is happening turn out fine. Stats in the bottom say I'm using ~1-6% CPU at anytime and it says 60FPS. Very frustrating!
