Question / Help Alt-Tab Issues

Okay, so I know that to be able to alt-tab mid game, you have to play in windowed mode or the game will stop rendering which makes sense. I got it to work with Fallout 4 - very briefly. I am running the game borderless-windowed, and am using game capture on a global source. As I said, it worked once. I alt-tabbed and the game continued running. Later, when trying to do the same thing, the game froze, like it would were I running it in full screen. I double checked several times that it was in windowed mode, and even tried changing it to bordered and messing with the size of the window as well, but no luck. Any help or advice here? It would be greatly appreciated.

Right, and I get that. But the game isn't crashing, it just stops rendering frames when I alt tab, like pausing a movie. I get why this happens when a game is full screen, but it should not happen since I am playing the game windowed.

It's up to each individual game whether to keep running when it loses focus. Fallout 4 has a specific config file line you need to modify, but I have no idea what it is and a cursory Google search isn't turning it up. Bilago's configuration tool can set it for you.
