Can OBS for MAC support Alpha Videos? I want to add a bunch of fireworks going off on my stream with a hotkey & I have a alpha video doing so. Thanks.

Yes. Supports Apple ProRes 4444 and YUVA420p Codecs.

In English: You can use an Alpha-Enabled MOV from Apple Motion or Final Cut Pro or an Alpha Enabled .webm file. Alpha GIFs and PNGs work as well.

How about partial alpha? It seems to me that when something on screen has an alpha of something from 1% to 99%, it's going to be e.g. 1% of the color in video and 99% black instead of 99% of the underlying video.

I've had no problems with that when I render a ProRes 4444 file from After Effects. Works great for Lower Thirds, any motion graphics, glows, etc. Just make sure the alpha is premultiplied, not straight.
