To all,

So I have OBS 0.59b installed - running 64bit on Windows 7. Using a Logitech Quickcam Pro 5000 USB Camera as the Capture Device.

I also have a Youtube Channel - and I have an account that allows me to do Live (I am in "Good Standing" )

So - on the OBS Side of things - here is how I am configuring it
A. On Settings - I have Mode of Live Stream - then I have Custom (if I use Youtube - I get errors from OBS).
B. So using Custom .. I have copied the Server Address
C. I have copied my Key in Play / Path/Stream Key

And when I click on Start Streaming - I see myself in the OBS Window - so that side seems good ..

Now to the Youtube "Problem" - And while I keep trying to play with the Ingestion Settings - it is on the Live COntrol Room that is really interesting

First - I see that I get a good "Stream Status" - Nice and Green and says 480P Stream (The WebCam does 640x480)

EDIT - I am trying lower settings than 480P - Getting the same problem ..

However - NO Picture - In fact - the preview window is blank - and if I click on Public View - All I get is the Please Stand By

Now it gets better - IF I click on the Blue Preview button at the TOP of the Page - I get the red message that says

"We are not receiving data from your encoder. Please make sure it is configured correctly in the Ingestion Settings page"

So .. that is where I am .. I have to believe it is something stupid I am missing

EDIT: Do I need to open certain ports on my Norton Firewall ?? (EDIT - Nope - I disabled Norton and still get the message)

Success !!!! First - don't ask me what I did to make it work - I just know it works ;)

Now - a few initial observations / questions

1. There is a delay from the time I start the Video on the OBS side till it starts on the Youtube Side. Further - there seems to be at LEAST at 15-25 second delay between what I do - and what shows up on Youtube

Thoughts - I am guessing this is part of the Encoding Process / Buffering Process ?

2. It sounds like the recording is in a "loop" - I hear a repeat of some of the things I have already discussed .. Not sure what this is

1. The delay is normal and how Youtube's live streaming video system works. Twitch recently switched to a similar system.

2. Don't watch your own stream while you're live unless you mute the playback audio, or OBS will record it too and you'll end up with a feedback loop.
