Is there a way to incorporate both game capture and software capture to work in unison? I don't like having to toggle game capture on each time i get into game and desktop capture when I'm out of game.
This also creates a problem because when I want to minimize in game, it freezes the game capture until I maximize the game again.

p.s. love obs, first broadcaster that actually works for me and gives me a decent 480p-720p stream.

You can use a capture card or just use monitor capture all the time with the game being in windowed fullscreen mode.

will that cause any noticeable effects towards FPS or quality?

Depends. Monitor capture is really fast on windows8 and much slower on windows7 and below.

Alternatively, use the scene switcher plugin in the Development forum: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1785

This way you can do Game Capture with one scene, and then the plugin will automatically switch to your scene with Monitor Capture or whatever automatigically and let you keep full performance in your game.
