I had it working then the thing crashed when i tried game capture. i can't get game capture to work.
The game name don't show up or when it does it straight crashes.

Any hoot on to aero and window capture.

So i had it working where i could capture a game in windows mode, after the crash the preview window would show a still shot of the game scene and stay like that, i can see the mouse curers moving around in certain parts of the screen but the game it self won't change.

Areo is on on both windows and OBS.

Any help? TY

I just tried to capture my Firefox browser and it worked at first, i minimized the browser and the preview screen went white.
I crested a new scene nothing rested OBS, if the browser is minimized i can't select the browser.

Can't preview the browser at all.

What's with all this trouble I'm having?

Ok capturing steam's front end and it's working. it captures the window perfectly and the advertisement changes in the preview.

Also i don't see the OBS program when i put it over the steam application.

So why is steam working but games and my browser isn't?

One last thing i just discovered.

When i launched GTA from steam to capture it the OBS showed up in the steam window frame preview and when i popped my browser up it showed in the preview screen.

And GTA screen was black BTW, and when i turned off GTA the window went back to normal and it was only showing steam front end only and nothing went in the preview browser OBS nothing even when steam was in the background behind all other windows.

Applications are stopping aero from running.

"A request to disable the Desktop Window Manager was made by process (Windows System Assessment Tool)"
Source: Desktop Window Manager
Event ID: 9010
or
"The Desktop Window Manager was unable to start because composition was disabled by a running application"
Souce: Desktop Window Manager
Event ID: 9013

How can we stop the application or windows from disabling aero?

The System Assessment Tool won't be running constantly, it looks like you just got unlucky with timing there.

Anyway, when windows are minimzed, they aren't actively being rendered, so there is nothing to capture. If you are using Window Capture, you'll need to keep things un-minimized (yes, that's a technical term -_-)

Can I see a log file if you're still having issues getting a game to show up in Window Capture? You are running GTA in some sort of window mode, yes? Here's how to post a log: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=97

Your CPU and GPU are very old/weak and not very well suited for streaming. Dual core CPUs don't encode video very fast, and that old of a GPU doesn't capture your video very fast.

Try downscaling by at least 2x and changing your preset to ultrafast, and lowering your FPS to 25, to begin with. But honestly I don't really see a good end to this...your system settings are just really weak, and a laptop, to boot.

Yea i know it's weak, but i have streamed and it's not working now.

So ty for the info about the system specs but i was wondering if you know why the preview screen and the stream is stuck on a still image of when i start the stream?

TY
