Question / Help Advice with capture computer?

I am thinking of converting my second computer to a capture computer for streaming to twitch.
My second computer is:
intel core2duo e6300
8 gigs DDR2 800mhz
msi 975x v2 platinum
and asus hd7850 dc2

Do you think that will be good enough to stream 1080p? I am planning on using the script that makes the GPU take more of the load for encoding. I might be able to upgrade the cpu to a intel core2duo E6700. And what capture card would you suggest?

My main rig is:
990fx sabertooth r2
amd fx 6350
16 gigs dd3 1600
and i will be getting a r9 290 sapphire vapor

I am using OBS on windows 7. So what do you think?

No sorry. A Dual Core CPU is VERY VERY limited in its capabilities when it comes to Video Encoding. For a dedicated streaming box that is supposed to support 1080p at 30 fps for streaming (so at least very fast preset) I would definitely get a modern i5 generation.
Back then I used an Intel Core2Quad q8400 slightly overclocked and it could barely run 1080p30fps at ultrafast. So I am not convinced that the e6300 or 6700 can even do 720p at veryfast.

So even if I dumped alot of the load onto my GPU, you can do that with the 7850, you don't think it would be enough? Dang I was hopeing. I not ready to build another computer yet. Just got down last christmas building the one that is my main rig.

Now about the other question what capture card would you suggest? And it doesn't have to have built in converting because well OBS doesn't support most and also GPU will also be helping convert.

Don't bother using a dedicated encoding PC if you're just going to run the encoding on the GPU. Do that on your main PC when you get the R9 290. The encoding PC in a 2PC setup should be equipped with a decent CPU so it can use x264.

yeah I might have to do that. the problem I am running into is some games I play won't let you game capture, aka anti hack programs that think anything tieing into the game is hacking. I guess when I do make a second computer build is when I make my DVR computer, I want to do that someday anyways but that will be awhile.

because Twitch limits bitrate to 3500 kbps there's not really a point in streaming 1080p over 720p. your CPU will have a much easier time working with 720p video as it has half the pixels that 1080p does. you could use a slower preset, get a cheaper CPU or just have some extra CPU downtime by switching to 720p
