Hi fellow OBS users,
I am specifically having problems with dropped frames/lag in most of my games (Overwatch and Prey are among what I have been playing) while trying to record video.
I often experience lag while streaming on Twitch as well and have been advised by a friend that processing power is what I need in order to allow OBS to work properly.
I use an Alienware Alpha r2 console, which runs Windows 10, and is a very capable gaming machine, with (so far) limited streaming/recording capability, here are the specs:
Processor: Intel (R) Core(TM) i5-6400T CPU @ 2.20 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
64-bit OS
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon (TM) R9 M470X
Alienware support were toxic when I enquired as to whether or not I could replace any of this hardware.
Does anybody on here know whether or not I can actually perform hardware mods on my Alpha console? I have heard of other people doing it, and am inclined to believe Alienware support were full of it.
If I can mod it, what recommendations would you have for me to improve specifically the performance of OBS? Maybe an i7 processor?
