Question / Help Advice for dual recording setup thru dxtory to twitch

I've been evolving my streaming setup. I got a big external HDD to record from dxtory to and then edit later. Sometimes I don't want to edit, sometimes the gaming session is so good I don't need to. It took an entire day to render and upload to youtube a 2.5 hour session, that wasn't fun. So now I'm streaming side-by-side with recording so if anyone wants to see the straight feed unedited, they can.

I need some advice on what settings to use for my particular setup here. I play games in 1080, and have Dxtory set to record both to file and output to directshow. The directshow output I'm displaying to open broadcaster is 720. I pick that up through Open Broadcaster, and that's where I'm not sure where to go from.

I've had to stretch the scene to fit into my 1080 space for some reason. I'm not sure if I should be using a custom base resolution or downscaling. I figure streaming in 720 is good enough and I want the hit from streaming on top of recording to be as small as I can make it. Anyone have ideas?

Did you set Dxtory to output in 720p on the Virtual Webcam device? In that case Shrimp would be correct. If you have not done this yet, you could maybe free up a few ressources by letting Dxtory downscale to 720p before outputting it over DirectShow.

You could also check if you can use the capture methods of OBS side by side with Dxtory, this would probably lower your ressource usage even more. The dshow output of dxtory uses RAM as far as I know, while OBS could do most stuff directly on your GPU (which is often faster).
But as mentioned, you need to test if you can capture your Games/Desktop etc, 2 times. If that does not work, dxtory's virtual output is needed.
