Question / Help Advanced Scene Switcher detecting video capture card is active

I am new to OBS and learning. I am trying to produce a live stream for our church and would like to use the Advanced Scene Switcher to automate part of the process.
I have the latest version of OBS installed and testing now.
I installed a new video capture card made by Magewell. I previously tried a AverMedia HD 2 but had issues with audio.
I can easily capture video and audio coming from my DSLR camera and live streaming it as well as record it.
However here is the problem:
- I attach the camera, setup the Scene, add the video using Video Capture Device. OBS displays color bars that allows me to finish the scene setup.
- I have an Intro Scene with an image that is displayed until the actual video feed starts (i.e. the camera is turned on and input starts to the capture card)
- I would like it to automatically switch from the Intro Scene to the live video Scene when the video input starts.
Is there any way to make that happen without opening other windows on this PC. I haven't been able to find anything online addressing this issue.

Advanced Scene Switcher can change scene based on:
  • timer
  • active window
  • active application
  • time idle
It cannot tell the difference between color bars and another type of video signal, or between source with no active signal versus a source with an active signal. I'm not aware of a plugin that can.
