Advanced Output Timer - A revised output timer that fixes a design flaw in the original and adds a start recording timer

The original output timer has a design flaw where if you set the output timer for your stream and then realize you want to change the timer, if you click stop, your stream stops. The same issue is present for the recording stop timer. This modified version fixes that. Additionally, it adds a start recording timer which is useful if you go live ahead of your actual stream time to capture viewers and don't want to accidentally forget to hit record at the actual starting time.

hello @markjay just so you know for the macOS users, they don't have to go into System Settings to change the Security and Privacy settings. All Mac users need to do is right-click (or control-left-click) on the package and select Open and they will go straight to the dialogue box asking if they want to Open it or Cancel.

This way is better because it happens for just this one install and they don't have to lower their entire system settings to install unsigned OBS plug-ins. ~Cheers.

Hi, I can't get this to work on Debian 12.

If I install from the DEB file it puts the files under usr/lib and usr/share.

When I run OBS (version 32.04) I don't see the plugin.

In OBS when I choose 'File/ Show Settings Folder' it opens in a .var directory under my home directory.

I found a guide which said to extract the files and manually create directories in the following structure -

.var/app/com.obsproject.Studio/config/obs-studio/plugins/advanced-output-timer/data/locale/en-US.ini
.var/app/com.obsproject.Studio/config/obs-studio/plugins/advanced-output-timer/bin/64bit/advanced-output-timer.so

When I run OBS I get this error -

os_dlopen(/home/colin/.var/app/com.obsproject.Studio/config/obs-studio/plugins/advanced-output-timer/bin/64bit/advanced-output-timer.so->/home/colin/.var/app/com.obsproject.Studio/config/obs-studio/plugins/advanced-output-timer/bin/64bit/advanced-output-timer.so): libobs-frontend-api.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Thanks

Is there anyway to make this timer lockable? This simeple timer is everything anyone would need, except dockable. In convination with macros, this timer is super powerful. Instead, at the moment, is being replaced by other timers which are also heavier files and so on. This simple timer integrates with original OBS mechanics beautifully, without adding any complications of heavier files to the system.
