Question / Help Adobe premiere pro doesn't like obs files!

So I have this problem where adobe premiere pro takes many minutes (3-15) to import obs files and once they have been imported in, the playback is very choppy and laggy and slow. The solution that I currently have is to use the edit and trim of windows film and make copies of a files (it takes a while but the playback isn't choppy in adobe). I was wondering if this kind of behaviour was related to some of my obs settings (I don't have any problems with any other files, my 4k camera files works great on adobe premiere pro)

NEVER EVER RECORD TO MP4 DIRECTLY WITH OBS FOR ANY REASON.
MP4 is not a recording-safe format, and many video editors have problems with OBS native-mp4 recordings, especially Premiere. Record to MKV or FLV, then use the 'Remux Recordings' option in OBS' File menu to convert the completed recording to mp4. Premiere should take the remuxed files with no problems.

I tried this, but every file I remuxed using the command in the menu, failed to properly work in Premiere. The file would import, but audio would stop playing past the first 10-20 seconds or so. The rest of the clip would be in silence while editing. Open the remixed file in any media player and everything is just fine.

Current versions of blackmagic's davinci resolve support MKV straight.

I know this thread is a couple of years old, but I'm betting your response has helped hundreds if not thousands of people like me who had all kinds of crashing problems with OBS files in Premiere Pro and found this thread looking for the answer. I was recording straight to MP4 having no idea about MKV and Remuxing. It seems to have immediately solved my issues and I can stop pulling my hair out. Thank you.
