add a device

dear all, I cannot add my Samsung camera st76 model in the add device column. can anyone help me to sort this out? I am connecting directly through the USB port from my laptop to the camera. ty
 
I don't know of any digital cameras that expose themselves as video devices over USB. You usually have to capture the HDMI output with a capture card.
 
Ok. As per your reply I have to buy a capture card otherwise direct USB connection would not allow to capture video..!!??

So, that requires in smart phones also. Am I right?
