Accidentally recorded in output setting 768x432 can I fix it?

I feel so stupid. I accidentally recorded a long video with an output setting of 768 x 432. Can I alter the video after the fact to look normal?

You can crop it, or otherwise remove information, but you can't add any. There's no underlying "perfect copy" that you can just tweak some settings and get back. (if there were, then the quality settings would be pointless because their entire purpose is to reduce the amount of data without killing your perception of the content) What you see is what you've got.

Whatever was not recorded, is lost forever. If you REALLY need it back, you'll have to re-record.

Thank you. I was afraid of that. The video looked like it was perfectly recording but when I went to play and remix it it was tall and very narrow. I did record on a separate device, but the quality/angle are not as good. Oh well, live and learn. Thanks

Common beginner mistake: blindly trusting something that they don't understand, and end up committing a TON of effort to something that could have shown in about a minute or so that it wasn't going to work.

Before you commit all of that effort into something you're unfamiliar with, test ALL of it!
  • Short recordings, play them back.
  • Short streams, watch them live or use the platform's recorder.
  • Try everything that you're going to do live, so you can watch it work (or not) before you rely on it.
  • Etc.
If you just "toss it up and go", then you're asking for this kind of trouble.
