Question / Help About cropping blackbars...

So I was reading some topics that a cropping feature may be implemented soon, but I'm wondering how soon it would be, or if there is a workaround for the issue I'm having.

See the black around the video? Of course, cropping would be the ideal solution here but is there a way to just get the video itself and not show any black? I was thinking about making four additional images going around the image overlapping it, but maybe there is a different way..

I assume that's a Window Capture source, yes? If so, you should be able to use the Sub Region functions in the source properties to crop out black bars.

It's a capture device, and I don't see a sub-region for a capture device...

Ah, unfortunately there is no way around this for now. I assumed you were using an emulator, apologies.

I know this is SUPER hacky, but would it be possible to edit the scenes.xconfig file to make the source larger than the viewing area? So you would "crop" the source by making it bigger than the scene...

I feel dirty for even suggesting it. :|

In seriousness however, that might work to eliminate black borders in your scene, but anyone watching in fullscreen that doesn't have the same aspect ratio monitor will see black borders. I would consider that a much more minor issue, though

The downside of that is that the game still won't be fullscreen :/

Though I'm not sure what the OP is going for. If an image with a cutout is what's desired, then yeah, go for it.

I managed to make it look like this. It isn't terrible, though the feature of being able to crop any source would be really amazing!!

You're capturing from an interlaced source, so I would run it through AmarecTV which allows you to deinterlace as well as crop while you're at it.
