Question / Help Ability to select stream quality on twitch

This might be unrelated to OBS, i dont know. But how do you get that option on your stream? You know, so you can choose 360p, 480p and so on.
 
Yea, it's a twitch feature I believe. May be only available to those in their partner program
 
The resolution transcodes are indeed limited to Partners, and only transcode resolutions lower than the one you're streaming.
 
If you stream in 720p or 1080p I think it gives people an option to downscale for bandwidth reasons but otherwise, its for partners only
 
Looking into this, apparently the way OBS configures the stream is incompatible with the Twitch transcoding system.
 
what does it require in terms of input to correctly transcode? probably some specific video encoder settings, I assume? I should probably ask someone at twitch what the requirements are.
 
Turns out it was a metadata issue, this will be fixed in the next release. You still need a partner account though to have the option of transcodes.
