As the title says, I am lacking the ability to select AAC as the audio format.
I'm going to take a guess and say AAC is limited to Windows 7 or newer, correct?
XSplit just released 1.2 which adds a higher quality AAC codec to the program. Unfortunately, it is not available on any Windows version before 7.
I'm assuming OBS uses the same codec, resulting in it being unavailable on Vista/XP.
If so; I guess it's not that bad, because unlike XSplit, OBS isn't artificially limiting our bitrate choices to 80kbps max, so at least the audio quality can still sound pretty good even if it is MP3.
