A red box and two mice are showing when I am trying to record a PowerPoint presentation and the slide will not advance.

I want to record a powerpoint presentation.Whenever I import the powerpoint there is a red box and two mice marks on the screen around the presentation and I can't get the slides to advance. I have spent hours looking everywhere for a solution. Any help would be gratefully received. Many thanks. Display capture does not offer the option for powerpoint or any options. Is there a way to reset the options without losing any settings?

The red line just indicates that it's not locked. Click the lock icon next to Window Capture 3 to lock it.

Realize - you aren't "importing" PowerPoint, you are ONLY displaying it (via a Display or Windows capture, personally I use Windows Capture... a forum search will turn up the instructions to get PPT to use a Windowed vs Full Screen slide view). You can't, by default, control PPT (or any other content from a Window/Display capture) from within OBS. You can't click on parts of the displayed source and interact with it [anymore than if you were watching TV, and wanted to touch the screen to interact what someone else was broadcasting]. OBS is just displaying it. If you want to advance the slides in PowerPoint, go to PowerPoint and advance the slides, which you will then see in OBS. Or look for plug-in / scripts which enable some 'remote control' of PPT from within OBS.

qhobbes answered question about red lines (locked source or not - has nothing to do with what is output/recorded)
Cursor - yes can be hidden depending on Windows Capture method used. I have to use the older method to keep cursor hidden for PPTx
