Question / Help A CPU related question...

Hi guys, I am not a technical guy, but I'd really like to stream CS GO at 720p (30 fps) with no performance problems at all.

I just bought an intel i7-4790k processor, and I have a 100/25 mbit line(so 25 mbit upload) that should be great for streaming right? :-)

Kindest regards

Yes this CPU is absolutely fine for streaming csgo, used by many other streamers, you should be fine doing 720p60 even with a preset like fast.

Thank you sir, and sorry for my ignorance... I have always been a gamer but I've never been too much into hardware etc.

If I have 100/25 mbit connection, what bitrate do you recommend for me?
I have 8 gb ram (they are new and fast MHz) do I need another stick, or would that do?

Thanks again!

since you are probably not a twitch partner i wouldnt suggest going higher than 2000-2500 bitrate, recommended max on twitch is 3500 so yeah, its all about testing on your own end if you have buffering issues or not.

and 8gb ram are completly fine shouldnt really think about it at this point

Thanks a lot man. Very appreciated. I look forward to playing around with my new CPU :-)

I play with very low/low/low/low in cs go, so I do expect good performance :D
awesome to hear bud
so this isn't a new thing but low res gaming (such as 1024x768) will raise the CPU usage quite a bit instead of higher resolutions that use more GPU. Just keep that in mind because, x264 also uses CPU which might cause it not to perform the way you intend.
