Hi all - I do a lot of streaming of my gaming to YouTube primarily to YouTube.
I have a 10 core Intel 7900x processor, GTX 1080 TI, and m.2 drive.
In terms of speed I have 1GB download and 30-35 mbps upload.
Even with this setup my computer can't quite make smooth 4k60 capture happen even though I can play in that resolution.
I record through OBS.
I was considering getting the 4k60 elgato. Price is not an object but I wondered if it would help with my pc streaming vs just using my own computer. It wasn't clear to me how much it accelerates and handles the PC capture on its own or is just a pass through mostly intended for the Xbox x or consoles where you can't capture otherwise.
Especially since you can only record with it in 4k and not stream without using OBS it wasn't clear to me if this would produce much clearer and improved PC casts or whether pushing it through OBS would put the same pressures on my PC.
Any help appreciated - again only focused on PC capture here in 4k60
