Goal: record 4k video

There is a 4k source input option, yet there is no 4k drop-down menu option in Settings>Video>Output Resolution.

Using a Logitech Brio webcam as a source in OBS. The Source is set to 3840x2160 30fps, yet the output resolution drop down menu doesn't have a 3840x2160 or a 2560x1440 option, only a 1920x1080 option. The Common FPS value is set to 30 fps. Under the Settings>Output>Advanced>Recording>Type>Standard option set, "Rescale Output" is NOT selected. Recording format is set to mkv, encoder is x264, rate control is CRF (set to 5).

When opening the video in smplayer, and selecting the information icon, the file is reported to be 1920x1080, 1000fps. The file should be 3840x2160 at 30 fps, but it's not: why? Why can't I record 4k video files in OBS?
