2nd Monitor detected but only displays 1 monitor

Hi OBS forum.

I have a double monitor setup, both connected to the same gpu in pc. I suddenly had a strange issue, let me describe.

I want to display the 2nd monitor. I have 2 monitor options to select but they both only show monitor 1. EVEN if I make monitor 2 my main, it still only displays monitor 1. Whether I select either monitor option as the display, it only shows monitor 1.

I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Nvidia drivers are up to date. Both monitors are detected by everything, except OBS apparently...

I use 2 monitors in my OBS. In my Scenes, I have 3 options that I set up: Monitor #1 (the main monitor), Monitor #2, and Monitors 1&2.
In my Sources for Monitor #1, I have Display #1 set for the primary monitor. In the Properties for this Source, I have the choice of which monitor I can select, which I choose the primary monitor. Under the Properties for the Display #2 in my Sources, I get the same 2 choices: either the primary monitor or the other monitor (not listed as Primary), I select the non-primary monitor or secondary monitor.

So when I select either monitor in my Scenes, the monitor that I select shows up in the OBS window.
I also have quick keys set up for each monitor: On my keypad- #1 for the primary monitor and #2 for the secondary monitor.

Also, Where you see Display, you can see the secondary monitor shown here but if you click on the drop down arrow on the far right of that Display window, I have the option of selecting the Primary monitor - see second picture below.

Does any of this help or make sense?!?

Hi, before reading your comment i'd like to say that it was working after disconnecting my 3rd monitor which is not being used. Not sure why a 3rd monitor thats not powered on would haywire the OBS monitor detection function lol. Anyways...

I read your response, It looks like you also have double monitors. You have 3 scenes which singles them and lastly combines them. Yes, makes perfect sense.

So, I use a top and bottom or Vertical monitor setup. I made my top monitor the main since I can get to the task bar in between both monitors and not have to drag all the way down or to the top. I would also find it to be more convenient to do tasks outside of my display scene, since I will only select to display the bottom monitor.

I find it odd that I would be left with no choice but to unplug them to solve the issue. In my case it was to unplug the monitor that was not even powered on. lol.
