Question / Help 24/7 Stream On A VPS or any other alternative method

Hi, I want to start a 24/7 stream without using my own upload speed. I could also use a different computer to stream on but I would rather use vps so that I don't have to keep that computer running all day. My upload speed is only 3mb which why I need an alternative option.

Is running OBS on Linux VPS or Windows VPS possible? Are there any other methods I could use?

Please help me out.
Thanks.

Possible, but you need a video card in the VPS solution you would buy. Those are much harder to come by and usually fairly expensive.

What exactly are you trying to stream?

Most VPS offers usually don't have a GPU that is required to run obs.

There are some that do but those are typically very expensive (i.e. AWS EC2 g2.2xlarge which comes in at around $500/month). Depending on the content you want to stream a dedicated machine that just has some Intel CPU with integrated GPU can be quite a bit cheaper (~30€ typically).

Alternatively if you might not actually need obs you can just use ffmpeg or vlc to create a 24/7 stream from files and playlists, for example.

I've heard of ffmpeg would that work on a vps? And I don't mind using a vps that has integreated gpu, should do the job really, only streaming in 720p 30fps at a low bitrate.
